Yep!

I've really done it now! Got it in my head to convert a school bus and vacation with my adult daughter. We both feel comfortable in the outdoors and enjoy the solitude it brings to our souls. Our lives are busy, but we make it each other a priority.

The beginning phase has begun...research, collecting ideas and budgeting money to make the purchase. Vacations up to this point have been in tents or hotel rooms & I'm looking for a few creature comforts as I mature.

I have in mind a medium sized bus that I can customize. Being raised by can-do common sense parents, I was always involved in their livelihoods...upholstery & sewing, carpentry & cabinetry, electrical & plumbing. With a few reminders I know I can do this. Well, not welding, but I'm sure I can find someone in the area.

Looking forward to meeting new people and welcome support/suggestions from this community.

:Thanx:

You have come to the right place. Welcome aboard. We have a great Community here that will help with anything you could possibly ask. And something I wish I had learned sooner... If you Google just about any question and add skoolie.net it will pop up the most appropriate 100 forums. There are lots of great ideas here.

Welding is no worse than the skills you've listed, and easier than some. IMHO it's mostly a body skill, like riding a bike. Practice, practice, practice. I've always found that the mental half never made a lot of overall sense and you just had to look up what alloy rod to use, which settings on the box, etc. I just took a night school class at the local vo-tech high school.

You know how to do all that other stuff; you got this.

Now THAT is an awesome idea! There is a tech school here & would certainly be worth it. Thank you!

Shes not welding, she cutting with a torch. In that pic. Welding is not hard you can get a decent welder cheap and just practice on some scrap. Thick steel is the easiest to weld
