Hello All! E450 Shuttle Bus

Hey everyone, I'm Bo, but you can also call me Dave. I recently purchased a 2000 Ford E450 shuttle bus from the ski resort I work for. I just took the first step of the conversion and pulled the seats out today. Trying my best to have the conversion done by the next winter season. I will be trying to keep up with the build on here, if you see any mistakes or have any suggestions feel free to let me know. Sorry for the terrible lighting in the photos, I was in the shop when I took these.

Purchaced from employer is terrific.

-Does a ski shuttle have custom racks, flooring, etc?
-Did you/can you get the service records, too?
-What type of conversion are you planning? Full time, toy hauler...

Answer in three separate posts then load some pics so we can eyeball that thing.

I'm definitely excited about it! We dont use outside ski racks on our busses for liability reasons, for some reason when people's skis fall off the rack they get all mad and want us to buy them new skis.

I have access to the service records going back to 108xxx. It's got 220xxx currently, solid service intervals and an inspection (and applicable repairs) every 45 days per Cali requirements. It was taken out of service because the floor was starting to go, turns out tracking snow in and out of a bus and walking around inside with ski boots is terrible for a plywood floor.

The current plan is to live in it full time at an RV park once finished, with weekend trips for kayaking and mountain biking, lake tahoe seems to be a great central hub for all outdoor activities. I also would like to build/buy an outdoor hauling rig for my dirt bike.

I will do better with pictures next time, I was kinda rushing and didn't put any real effort of documenting this time, it was busy in the shop.

Floor is no worries. One of the many items to replace once they age out. Good foundation is where to start. You can find worse off skoolies that have found new life at skoolie.net

That nice, clean, straight. Tall, low humps. Sweet.

Too bad you are two states away, or I might be interested in some of those seats I think the shipping would pretty much make it not worth the trouble though.

And I guess I need to get my bus emptied first anyways!

Unfortunately all but three of those seats have been smashed with a front end loader, partly because they fit in the work dumpster better flat, and partly because I work with children who like destruction
