Hello! Deposit on a bus..

The FB post is connected to the web site https://www.oldschoolbussales.com/shop. Street view 212 Normandy Ct. Nicholasville, Kentucky. Seems to have other buses!
There is a performance shop next door that doesn't seem related.

northern kentucky.. if the busses they get come from mainly kentucky they could be very good units.. most districts in KY have a reputation of taking good care of their busses.. now if they come from ohio all bets are off.. while a few districts in ohio do a nice job of taking care of their rigs.. many dont.. as many busses get rusty here quickly.. the further north in the state you go the worse it gets...

I checked out that website and thought it was cool you could specify the number of buses you want to buy before checking out.

I'll take three.

And the site doesn't have any pictures other than pretty ones. I'd love to see more details on bus condition, like an oil report, or smog check results (if they do that in KY).

Justifying Inflation for Profit

I looked at their inventory. They evidently paint every bus placed for sale.

Possibly a paint shop who creates his own work, when business is slow. Invest into a property or vehicle, inflate the value with paint/demo, Invoice the labor to the shop to pay employees, resell the merchandise at a profit.
Wash rinse repeat.

Making work when there is none. Master tradesman of all sorts do this to keep the day to day paychecks flowing & level the books. Busy work or filler.

(IMO)

its Common.. BGA offered a paint service.. and many many people used it.. painting busses issomething alot of people dont have the facilities to do.. I rolled my superior and it was a definite task that wasnt the most fun.. I did the prep work on my red bus and had it shot.. my DEV bus was already in process when i got it so I had them finish it... other than exporters the majority of busses sold to churches or individuals were painted when the ywent out the door.. and while their busses were high priced.. their paint work was easily half what youd pay to have it done after you bought the bus and it was a damn good job of prep N paint.. (at least at BGA)..

if you just walk in the door wit ha yellow school bus and tell a paint shop to delete and paint it.. you are looking at least 4 or 5 grand these days..

obviously many here have land or shops or spaces where the ycan paint and its a huge $$ saver to paint a bus yourself.. but many of us dont so buying a pre-painted bus is a plus.. my busses are in a covered storage lot but I absolutely cant do more than just a little rattle-canning.. or rolling as I cant have any over-spray.. there is a gravel lot outside the gated storage area in which they told me I was allowed to spray however its often breezy.. the area is pretty dusty so its not anything close to a decent area to paint.. rolling my superior was hard enough section at a time picking out the bugs.. trying to paint at times of day when bugs were least in hopes paint skinned over before i had lots of wings attached...

This is a rip-off.

The paint job looks good, but the complete lack of undercarriage photographs is worrying. If you are having doubts, ask about shifting your deposit to another bus.

yea its a rip off as my wife (70) and her granddaughter (16) took out the seats in a full sized bb in a afternoon while i was at work .

Yeah, painful to watch. The little ones can walk a looooong way before they completely gum-up. You have one week of Indian Summer to make it happen here.... gotta shoot paint early in the day with lots of hardener, before they (bugs) wake up from the overnight freeze. As mentioned, I'd have no qualms about buying the next one painted and set it at a higher value $$.

Yeah I asked about pictures underneath and he said he can't climb under since he's handicapped.. seems like a red flag but if I go see it in person and it doesn't look too bad, it should be fine, right? He said thats the only bus they have right now.

but he can take the seats out??? no go without pics of underside

Having said all that, looking forward to your conversion updates.
