I'm very interested in school bus conversions much to the dismay of my lovely wife.

Regardless of the preformed opinion of your wife, every person that rides in a private bus thinks it's pretty cool. Cool may be the wrong adjective considering your location. Go test drive a couple buses and take your wife with you, but not if you have to tie here up.

Well... If its consensual... (ducking!)

OP: govdeals.com has some busses up for auction near you. I got mine a few weeks ago in Marble Falls. Other districts in the area are starting the yearly purge too, so its a good time to look.

Welcome!

Yeah, and SearchTempest is good but it does not include buses on Public Surplus.

You've seen that nice white bus in AZ with the MB engine?

My question are they allowed at Pecan Grove? If so I'm coming. Is Pecan Grove still there?

Find a skoolie nearby and take her to see it then take her out for a nice dinner. But as a fellow who just celebrated a 28th anniversary, I would encourage you to go with her gut rather than yours. I've found my wife to be right far more times than not.

In our case, wife says, "Once we get out of debt, we save up and buy a bus." I can live with that. The converse is also true.

Thanks

Thank you all for the good advice and tips. I'm of the mind to go with a bus conversion and also a tiny house on wheels. My darling wife is okay with the tiny house idea but still balks at the idea of a school bus conversion. But I think I'm wearing her down slowly but surely. I've been showing her several videos on people living in really nice bus conversions but there is still something about it that still screams tacky to her about it. So having a semi permanent home on wheels may allow her to indulge me on the bus conversion part.

Thanks again to all.

If she's worried about it looking "tacky" lean towards the flat nose buses. They look more like a "regular" rv. Find some pics of ones that have been converted well and show her to break her down. Also show her Bluebird Wanderlodge's. They are factory built on a bus chassis and were the high end rv's of the day so this will give her more good pics of a proper rv.

Just show her SomewhereinUSA's bus. Or Don and Mary's...
Or any of the really sweet conversions folks are rockin on here.:thumb:

You are basically me 5 years ago... good luck!

For what its worth, my wife went from:
1. using her veto power on the bus idea
2. skeptical
3. grudgingly accepting
4. totally in love with our bus

So there is hope!

I'm saying you need a long driveway, and no home owners association (HOA), also several RV parks are just like HOAs
