Hello Skoolie community. Glad to be here.
Mom passed away six months ago. Got plans to buy and convert a skoolie with my pops, then hit the road with him and my wife and a few pets. Haul ass all over the country and see some sites.
Have some money saved to invest in the project and looking to buy an old bus perhaps and then drop a new engine into it. Not sure if anyone on here has experience with that. We want reliability above all else, are hesitant to buy a used bus as is. Thoughts?
Dad and I have lots of construction experience and some motor/mechanical knowledge as well. No experience converting buses specifically though.
Expect we will learn a lot from this forum as far as best practices.
If anyone is on twitter or other sites, I'm @BlueBeardBard on all platforms.
