Just joined today but have been lurking for a while. I see a lot of useful and helpful information. Most posters seem polite enough.
Reading through to see how to purchase bus without CDL... and drive it home. Then maybe I can try for a small bus.

I'm from Nashville and my grandparents lived in Clarksville. Welcome! I'm out West now with low humidity, few mosquitoes, and virtually no ticks. I LOVE IT HERE. I still like to visit middle TN in April and Oct, though.

Welcome! Franklin, Tennessee here. It's super easy in Tennessee. As long as you're not trying to use the bus as a primary means of income and plan to convert it to an RV, you don't and won't need a CDL or Class F endorsement. Temp tags will do you well until you register it with your county clerk, and they will tag and title it as a regular vehicle for you. Insuring the bus is a little trickier as there aren't many companies during the build process that will insure you. You can get a commercial policy via progressive, but it would be advised to not mention anything regarding your plans to convert it to an RV. Some people have luck with them, others not so much.

Thank for the helpful information. What little I have read indicated insurance may be tricky. I hope to get a bus this weekend.... going for a look-see in Huntsville. Have a great 4TH!

My mom and sister live in Franklin! Are there any good parts places within a couple of hours from there?

I don't have any info regarding parts. Getting an insured bus home is my first objective. Old threads had references to some places that salvaged parts for RVs, bus parts... maybe some else in the Forum can help.
