We just joined the Skoolie-to-be world when we purchased a 1992 International School Bus today. Lots of work coming our way over the next few years but we are so excited. Cannot wait to learn from others. We are not a full time RV user, but plan to use it every weekend we can and tow a car behind us. :campfire:

Welcome to the group. There are plenty of people and resources on the site for reference. A picture with details on your engine and transmission is always helpful.

Thanks Corbi, Here is what we are starting with.

1992 International Thomas Built - Navistar
L6 turbo diesel
DT360 5.9L
AT 545 4 Speed Auto Transmission

It belonged to a daycare and they got a new bus and just wanted out of this what they purchased new tires for the new one, so we got it for a steal.

This will be our winter project for the next two winters I am sure. I plan to maybe blog along the way. I will figure out how to post pics here in a little bit.

Some of us reading that probably laughed out loud at the estimate--but don't take offense, I'm just thinking of my own early stage optimism.

Kidding aside, sounds like a smoking deal, just the right foundation to work from. You've come to the right place and I hope you have a blast. Welcome to the forum!

I am struggling to figure out how to post pics. I started an album in here thinking I could post links, but that did not work. Any guidance is awesome.

Welcome to the group. I am in the St. Louis area so if you are not to far from us. We bought our bus from a church in Carlenville,IL. We have some plans to go back to that area and camp at Beaver Dam park and show them the improvements we made to their bus LOL

Hello. So nice to meet a local fellow Skoolie. We got ours from a local daycare for a steal of a price. We cannot wait to get started on the project. We are very excited. We will reach out once we get her done and maybe meet up sometime thanks.

Hello fellow local Skoolie drivers. Central IL here. About an hour from the LOU. My C2 has sat now since 2021. She went into limp mode on the way home from a trip to Michigan and has been dormant since. Going to see if I can’t get it fired up and moved to a place to work on it.

Limp mode on the tranny? Check your speed sensor(s). Might even be cheap enough to just replace them.

It’s an 07 c2 with an MBE926. Giving codes ECU 128 / sid 058 / Fail 04 on the dash. I haven’t had the time to work on it. Today is my Friday at work so hoping to have it running this weekend. I’ll check the sensor thanks.

Actually, that information means that my first toss-up is not correct.

From a brief look at the codes, there's probably a short-to-ground somewhere. Might only be a sensor, but I'm not 100% sure that's what you're looking at.

ECU128 is an engine code; so it's not on the tranny.
