I have posted a few times to gain some insight, but have yet to post an intro so here goes!
I am recently married, and am looking into a 5-7 window shorty! My wife and myself (and dogs) are looking for something to have some fun with. The plan is to start out with a very basic build. We want to retain some seating to tailgate, and go on tubing trips about 6 hours away. A bathroom of some kind is something I am going back and forth on with the initial build... unsure at this time.
Diesel and full size is a must (I am just not a fan of cutaways). 6BT, 444E, or a DT466 are the motors that I am most interested in. I would like a 1000, or 2000 series Allison, but a 545 wouldn't complete turn me off a bus.
We live just south of the Omaha metro on a small acreage, with a 40x60 machine shed. I have accumulated a decent amount of tools, and am fairly experienced mechanically.
Buying a bus has been a dream of mine since I started driving, and now with the support of my new wife, I look forward to making it happen! I have gained a good amount of knowledge/comfort with buses since I started reading here, so thanks to all for that!
