Soon to be empty nesters and looking for vehicle for our Hobby. My wife and I enjoy beach camping down at Padre Island National Seashore. Basically its 60 miles of unimproved beach. We currently tent or chair camp hauling all our gear in our 4x4 F-250.
I would like to explore the options of converting a bus to 4x4 Seems like a straight forward swap using a divorced t-case and a new front axle using the leaf springs. Then gear the inside up for beach friendly camping. I will be hanging around and searching posts. If anyone knows of a 4x4 conversion post or where they can be bought already 4x4, please share

Hello Salt
Yes there's been considerable discussion here about 4x4 short buses. The thing is 4x4 buses do exist but they're as rare as hen's teeth. Naturally they are going to cost more too because there are a number of people like yourself with the 4x4 idea in mind.
In my experience vehicles this large with 4x4 basically give you a false sense of security. They are designed for snow areas and IMO they are nothing like driving a 4x4 F-250. A short bus shouldn't be all that heavy but if it gets stuck even with 4x4 you'll probably need help getting unstuck.
