Hello Skoolies!
Just got back from my maiden voyage. I purchased a 2008 Mini Bird by Bluebird from a local school district. She’s on a 2008 Chevy Express chassis with the duramax, only 204,000 miles and basically rust free. Got an ok deal on it.

First trip went well, found out the A/C doesn’t work and the seats are uncomfortable. So the wife wasn’t too excited about that part. First major project will be fixing the A/C and getting the passengers comfortable for long trips (wife and 4 kids).

The plan is not to turn this into a full blown live in motorhome. For the most part gonna keep the stock interior. Basically a road trip and camping adventure bus. That has enough room for the kids, dogs, and all of our gear!

You are doing the same thing my daughter did with her bus. Find some transit/commuter bus seats. They are pretty comfortable and fit the same seat layout. You can find them pretty reasonable for decent seats.
Good luck and enjoy the bus.
