Just wanted to say hello and thank you from a couple of future Skoolies. This site has been very helpful for us to determine what to look for. How to`s and not too`s. Design ideas. Along with many other questions we have had and will have in the future.
This I think for right now is or future skoolie unless something come up better.
03 Freightliner.

I've not heard the greatest things about those. I have zero personal experience or knowledge of them just offering discussion.

Ok Opinions needed

Ok well I will ask the Forum about the idea of a 2003 Freightliner, 5.9 cummins,250K Km, automatic transmission hydraulic brakes for 3500$ Certified and was just taken out of service 6 months ago.
What are your thoughts.

I have been looking in the forum and have not seen anything to critical or bad about this make bus. I may be wrong,but that is why I am asking.

Maybe I'm just confused, of misinformed. I've looked at so many buses in the last year or two.

Have you visited the two bus places in Industrial Park? I can't remember the name of them, but they're both down by the hazardous waste depot. One is on the corner and the other is across the road. I've visited both and the latter one has a real nice fella who might be able to help you out. I don't remember his name, though....

Also, I'm not sure how much experience you have with metal work, construction, plumbing etc, so maybe you know all this already, but I wish someone would have told me these things so I wouldn't have had to figure it out myself!

Best shops I've found around town for getting **** done:

1. Soo Mill. Consistently cheaper than Home Depot and with better products, though their selection is more limited.
2. Traders Steel/Soo Foundry. Good prices for general steel.
3. Henderson's. Sells satin-coated sheet metal. Real nice stuff to work with. I used several sheets for covering the windows and patching rust holes.
4. Home Hardware on Second Line. If you are looking for strange and obscure plumbing fittings, this is the place to go.
5. TMS truck shop and Traction Heavy Duty Truck Parts. Big bolts and 8-gauge wire.
6. Praxair. Large gauge wire at a reasonable price. Great for battery connections.
