I joined this forum as converting a bus into a RV type vehicle can
get expensive many time... So I figured I would offer to help out
someone close by with getting some stuff to outfit their bus...

I Have a late 80's camper rv that the motor/trans were removed...
However the water system is there the gen, the rooftop A/C and
stove and 'fridge. it all was working fine this past summer when it the
motor and trans were removed...

Now you ask,, hhmm,, and how much does this guy want for this stuff...
Well, thats an easy answer... Nothing.. Correct.. Nothing.. Just come get
the camper for free and its all yours.....
Located in Joliet Illinois..

yeaaa,, welll, hmmm,, not that close.
shipping would probably be like 1500$/2000$
I would guess..
Only you can determine if it would be worth it to you...
Just hate to see it all go to waste.. * sigh*

I know of several people who converted buses on the cheap by purchasing a dead or dying RV and using it as a donor for things like appliances, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, furnace, A/C, genset, and tanks.

There are still a lot of dead or dying RV's out there that can be had for under $1K.

If over time you don't like the donor's parts it is much easier to replace a few items at a time as you need to rather than having to foot the whole cost at once.

I am aware of this which is why I offered it up for FREE...

The only things that have been removed are the engine and trans...
Alll the RV stuff is still intact....
and for FREE.... :) :)

I just don't have room to take it apart or to store it...

One issue one needs to consider long and hard these days depending upon your location when purchasing a "Parts" RV to aid in their Skoolie build is the disposal of the RV carcass when you have completed your project or are finished parting out the RV for the items you need.

Most automotive salvage and recycling yards will no longer take RV's anymore due to the large amount of none metal components, the types of construction materials (wood) and other items used in their construction. The metal scrap yards also will not take them for the same reasons. If either of the above does take the remains of the RV expect to receive far less money on a per ton basis than they usually pay for cars, trucks or scrap metal. Land fills will also not take RV's for disposal. In some instances you might be in the position of having the disassemble the RV and separate the different material components of an old RV to be able to dispose of the remains. A lot of towing companies with city contracts for towing of abandon vehicles in different parts of the US are now finding this fact out the hard way!

The point being you might be way ahead dollar wise buying the complete RV from the seller, taking the items you want for your Skoolie project and THEN tell the seller you have a Great Deal for them as you want them to have the remains of the RV back for FREE so they can once again re-sell the RV once again for parts to the next SUCKER and make "Mo Money" for themselves!

In this situation GREED is a WONDERFUL motivator to get things going you way as the cost of disposal of the RV remains may far exceed to benefit you received from the purchase of this parts RV in the first place!

I know it ain't a skoolie? No interior pics but if the inside looks as decent as the outside?
Put a junkyard motor and tranny in it and sell it for 3-5 grand and use the money to fund the skoolie

Is it still available I could really use it if my friend could tow it here for me I'm in Mattoon Illinois about an hour south of Champaign
