Help Me With My Dilemma

1000 miles per day is some serious rolling. Not to say it can't be done but I would not be enjoying it! Bring ear buds.

Hell 500 miles in a day is a lot of driving in a bus. At least it is for me.
With an air ride seat, buses are really pretty comfy over the long haul. Its the factory non air ride seats that will have ya sore.

I did around 550 driving the Wanderlounge home, the day after I rode that same 550 the other direction on my scooter. I tried to sleep at a Walmart along the way because o left really late but it was freezing and I had nothing but my clothes so I think I got got an hour before driving the rest of the night.

I'm used to regular 15 hour rides to N.E. every now and then. I made a trip to Calif 2 years ago, 22 hours non stop except for gas, had food and drinks with me. Turned around 2 days later loaded with 3 motorcycles in the back of the truck and 28 hours back. Did stop for an hour on the way back for a nap.

Sounds very familiar. Years ago I made regular, non-stop runs from Houston to Riverside, Daytona, Elkhart Wisconson, Road Atlanta, etc.

Race all day then turnaround and drive straight back.

I was younger then but still make a 15 hour drive to Tennessee each Summer. These days for teaching...not racing.

Most i ever did was 24 hours from here in middle GA to the west side of Denver.
Drive isn't that bad its the hangover from it for me.

Though we share driving Bob and I do the trip to Bonneville twice a year, 20-22hrs hauling a 35" race car enclosed trailer behind a big Duramax .

Hey o1marc, welcome to Genesis ownership! Mine is older but all mechanical. I’m pretty sure you will enjoy the driving experience. We will of course need lots of pictures!

I can attest to the drive AND build quality of a Genesis.
IMO one of the best platforms for conversion.

This frustrating. I'm so anxious to get this bus here. I can't believe how anxious I am to want to give someone some money. I had to make a second call today to get her to send me the deposit request. She didn't do it yesterday and after calling today she said she would do it within 1/2 an hour. That was 4 hours ago. I want to get the plans tied up quickly. The flight I looked at the other day goes up $200/day. The flight I looked at 2 days ago was $352, yesterday it went to $532, and today it went to $704.

Are you in that much of a rush to get your bus?!?
I am sure a bus ride there is far cheaper ;)

I own a bus i haven't seen other than in pics, so ya at this point I'm in a hurry to get started on it. You obviously have never ridden a Greyhound Not something I would ever subject myself to, 3 days with a bunch of screaming rugrats running around to save a few bucks. I would not look forward to a 2+ day ride as a passenger just to turn around and drive the same trip back.

I don't know if this will help but it's worth a try, I've heard that hotel and Airline websites track your IP address and can see how many times you visited and every time you revisit the site looking at that flight or room it bumps the price up so you feel the urge to buy it. When you go to book the flight maybe try looking at the price on your phone or another computer and see if it's any cheaper. Again this is all just hearsay

I took a greyhound home from Atlanta once. Prefer not to ride greyhound again if I have the choice, lol.

I tried it last year while moving vehicles to my new home.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Next time I get the urge to, I think that I'll go sit in an overused porta-potty for 12 hours instead.

That doesn't happen. I don't believe any of the discount airfare outlets sell any cheaper than any other. When you check, it's the same flight, same plane, same carrier, same price.
