Help! New skoolie owner with snow balling issues

I think it's because it was probably easier and more cost effective for the manufacturers to do the same components as their heavy duty trucks and semis on top of the added safety factor like previously mentioned. That said it's not impossible to smoke out/burn up shoes and drums on air brakes it's why there are the emergency run off spots for semi trucks on major trucking routes that have steep grades. (My dad drove truck for a long time only job I ever remember him having)

You can still smoke a driveline brake today. Most though have interlocks. Trans. will stay in neutral till the brake is released however I do know that trucks are still built without that interlocks and can be burned up but there is a light and sometimes a buzzer.

The times I see them burnt up is when the light bulb burns out with no shift interlock.

The big issue with a drive shaft brake is if you break an axle or u-joint, you have no brake.
Also if you set the brake and jack up one drive wheel the other wheel can roll.
So it's super important with this type of brake to always use wheel chocks.

It should be the same as a S cab 1700 series International truck. Any good truck parts house can fix you up.
