Pleeeease help! In part if my "create a skoolie in 5 weeks" I need some parts QUICK as we're using the skoolie in a few days (Wednesday night). If you know of stores (maybe chain stores? truck supplies store?) that carry these items where I can run and pick up parts, that would be best. I've been doing some checking online. If you have online leads, that would be helpful, I'm just worried about timing. Thanks for any assistance you can provide...

* Headlight mount (one was completely rusted and we found now crumbled apart upon trying to put headlight back in after painting)

* Rubber gasket for top Emergency Door window (seriously, do these shrink a bit if they're out for a few weeks? Simply not stretching enough. Honest, we tried.)

* Diesel tank (believe we have a leak repaired for a temporary fix, but will need to replace after weekend/very soon)

I'm sure other items may pop up in the next day or so as we're putting everything back together, but this is a start. Thank you!! And, have a terrific day! :)

PS - I COMPLETELY understand the whole "traveling south for a non-rusty bus." Holy moly. Love my bus but WI winters were a bit rough on it. But, this is my first one so it's a good learning experience.

I'm sure there is a school bus parts shop somewhere in your vicinity. It might take some searching, but a good start would be to call the local school districts and ask them where they get their parts. I'm in Houston and we have Chalks (http://chalks.com/bus-parts/). You could of course order any part you need, but then you'd have to pay for shipping/freight...

Hope you find what you need.

Check with laymers bus or kobussen both do contact transportation for schools and whatnot. Both have their own shops and parts, they may have what you need or point you at where to get it

I'm assuming you have the square International headlights like mine. My pass side was the same. I went to change the headlight and whole bucket fell apart. I searched online with no luck. Finally I went to a pick and pull and found a nineties jeep Cherokee (XJ). Close enough that it worked. Got it for less then $10 if I remember right.

I eventually plan on putting a semi diesel tank on mine. The forty gallon tank is just not big enough for me. That roll cage they put around the school bus tank also takes up a lot of space.
