Been looking for a RV project for Boondocking on our land in central Nevada, Texas and Montana.

If I am going to go with older equipment, I think the Bus offers a better starting point than most motorhomes.

So going to start my search here, no experience with diesel motors, but a lot with gas, and two stroke.

Retired contractor with a large garage full of tools and some wood butcher skills.

Will be asking a lot of really dumb questions but will try to use the search function first when I can.

Thanks
Craig

Welcome.

Be sure to read as many build threads as you can. That's where the real info can be found.

Questions only get you opinions. Not real experience and knowledge.

I love the build thread section. I read every build thread posted on this site.

I look forward to seeing pics of your conversion.

I think you're right there. Seems like production RVs that are older (inexpensive) also tend to be kind of.. icky? Outdated, poorly maintained, etc..

Sounds like you've got many skills to do something neat, and the personality characteristics to learn whatever new skills might be needed. Enjoy!
