Hi, Skoolie world!!!

I am a single mom to three kids (hence, my handle) and have plans to start converting my own school bus here within the year. Being patient and looking for the right bus is excruciating, but I know it will be worth it in the end. We plan to live in it full time for a few years, minimally, so don't really want to compromise.

I have two teenage boys and a 9 year old daughter.

I always believed I could down-size and be happy, and strongly considered that the last few years. I was researching building my own tiny home when I learned about skoolies. I fell in love almost instantly. I started researching obsessively and decided that this was the way I was going to go!

Anyhow, I am here to learn and be inspired!

Thank you for allowing me to ride your skirt-tails and learn from you all, I am honored to be here among some of the greatest converters in the Skoolie world. :biggrin:

My teenaged (well, for one more year anyway) son talked me into it!

I agree!! put them to work... mechanical / electrical / trade / skills are **MUCH** in demand.. I have a friend who does PLC programming for factory machines of all types.. he says many many manufacturing facilities are paying top dollar for maintenance guys to repair and upkeep these machines.. these days young people that can hook up wires, turn wrenches, weld, AND know computers are RARE.. but in demand..



put those boys to work learning and building.. then while on the road, they can do internet based schooling, learning, and work.. and WOW!!



while i havent often seen eye to eye with my Father over the years, one thing he did was instill in me that learning is good..



if I wanted a car to drive, i needed to learn how to keep it up, sure at times when i was a teen he gave me $$ to buy PARTS.. but it was up to me to put them on .. back in the 80s the internet wasnt googling "how to put an alternator on a Peugeot 505".. it was going to the library and reading chiltons books... the skills i learned then are skills I use often.. both with pleasure projects (busses, and formerly hotrods).. and in my work..
