I was thinking I could go with spa hose too, but it would be nice to maintain proper drainage.

the crossmember can/should be resupported like a box out because proper drainage is important to keep pain in the but maitenance down anything you stick through the floor should be protected from rubbing on the metal regardless of what choice of material? actual pipe will last longer than a spa hose that you will be eventually changing even if you box the channel out for it?
might as well box it out and hard pipe exactly what you need.
several ideas to do a box without welding?
in my opinion a 2" pipe needs a 3" hole if perfect without a sleeve.
lots of ideas here so many opinions.

wait you are still in the planning stage so you can sqash or expand an area to not cut a rib?
nothing is ever dedicated until you have gotten ahead of yourself in an idea and it aint quite right?

I thought for a time about flattening a pipe just enough to jam it through the gap between the frame rails and the floor metal. Spa hose would accommodate that pretty well. It would drain okay so long as the bus was less than 1 inch in 8 feet out of level. In the end though I chose to arrange my interior so that all the fixtures and waste water stay on the left side only.

In general, a bending beam is under compression on the top, tension on the bottom, and unstressed in the middle (in a chassis beam these roles alternate as the beams flex while driving, but the middle remains largely unstressed). A general guideline is to keep drilled holes in the middle third of the web, so a 2" to 2.5" hole to accommodate your 1.5" brain pipe in an 8" channel should be fine. I wouldn't do it myself, though, if I could find any alternative - like having a smaller brain.
