hooking air compressor hose to air tank?

I'd like to hook an air compressor hose with a valve to my air brake tank line, to use while I am sitting still. Would this create a problem with the workings of the compressor, brakes, ect.?

NOT AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A SEPERATE VALVE FOR IT, OUR FIRE TRUCK HAVE A AIR CHUCK ON THEM THAT FEEDS OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM

Just tap in at the tank drain and make sure you have a valve for it. Most fittings are 1/4 NPT I believe.

Yeah it wouldn't be a bad idea anyway to put a chock on there. If the motor doesn't run you can hook up a compressor to keep the brakes pressurized when towing. Unfortunately I have a lot of experience being towed.
