I have a RE skoolie without an AC. So where the compressor would normally go next to the engine, it's just a big empty space.

I've thought of putting things in there like a generator, mini split outside unit but decided it wouldn't be wise due to the temperature.

What have you been able to use all this extra space for if any? I'm not hurting for space so I can definitely shift things around but I feel like I'm missing out on some great opportunity to put something cool in there.

definitely dont put anything cool in there.. only hot stuff...

it might not be a bad place to make tool boxes for wrenches and sockets and stuff.. they might get a bit warm but often when you are needing said tools you are working in or around the engine bay...

Over the years I have used the space for various purposes. Two different generators. Back when I was using lead acid house batteries they were in there (occasionally would get an over temp shutdown of inverter). The area I use is on the intake side so outside air crosses the stuff not engine heat. Carried firewood for quite a while. Spare oil and antifreeze. Right now my rocket stove and firewood for it are in residence.
