How much for a running gutted bus?

If you came across a fully gutted 90's Running bus what would you pay?

I'm curious what people value an empty Skoolie Shell that drives.

The amount of work with seat removal/heaters/insulation/paneling/flooring (THE WORKS) is quite a bit of time.

The ultimate question is, how much value does that time add to a Skoolie?

I paid a kid to help me, while I stood around and watched...... Ah supervised.
We worked over 2 days an average of 9.5 hrs each day, so $190.
To some it might be worth $1000 because it really isn't a fun job in the sun.
Around here 90's buses are usually purchased for between $1000-$3000. I just bought an 87 for $900. Depending on condition a gutted bus, to me, would not be worth much more than that price range

Totally understand that! We got ours from the school, gutted/painted/derusted did some sealing and are considering going a different direction with our life . We're mostly curious if all the sweat equity would bring the price up much or what a reasonable price for it is where it's at.

keep the bus and make an RV out of it if you are having second thought about living in it.


it seems ever yspring several people pop up on here that want busses which are either already converted or are ready to build on. (seats gone, floors finished, rust fixed)
