How to clean your urine line?

I have a Seperette composting toilet, with a urine diverter that has a 1/2” I.d. hose, which goes to the grey water tank. The system is about 3 years old and the urine line is having drainage problems. As I clean it out there seems to be brownish build-up that I assume is calcium and mineral deposits from the urine over time.

Besides replacing the line, what’s the best way to clean this out of the line?

Going forward, how do I keep the line clean from future build up?

Your advice would be appreciated.

What I did...

I disconnected the line from the grey tank. Cleaned out the stuff that was blocking in pipe there. Then I flushed the line with 5 gallons of water by pouring down the pee hole. Then I Pinched off the line and put in vinegar and let sit for 30 minutes then flushed the line again.

I kept getting small chunks of brown crystals so I kept flushing. Finally, I put in baking soda and vinegar into the line and let sit and flushed the line again.

Seems to be running again.

Let me any other suggestions you have tried.

I actually plan on running my drain line from the bathroom sink to the urine diverter pipe, so that when I wash my hands, the soapy water runs through and cleans the pipe. Gonna be a lot of angles in that line lol...

My hope is that doing this will prevent the urine line from getting very nasty in the first place. Time will tell.
