How to post PICTURES AND VIDEO on skoolie (edit in OP)

hmmmmmmm…..I am new to posting pics......but I read a warning that this site no longer accepts / uses photobucket……….. since photobucket no longer allows linking to pics on their site....so for now I just posted from my own gallery / but that's just a link....not a thumbnail. I suspect 95 % of this thread is now out of date and can be deleted ?

They do allow posting to sites, just not for free.

I just use Imgur, works for me. Nothing important is on there so if they decide to go full Photobucket on me it isn't a big deal unless someone has sudden interest in my build thread 8 years down the road :whistling:

Doing IMGUR, but I'm still doing something wrong. Do you embed the image? Copy the link? Paste the string in the text box? Click on the little picture icon?

Going back up to read the instructions from the beginning. Again.

ok, yeah, you clikc on the picture icon, it asks for a URL. To get a real image url from imgur click on your link it shows a webpage, not an image. To get the url for just the image, I use chrome and right click and it has a menu option 'open image in new window", which puts just the image in a webpage and you can cut/paste THAT url in the skoolie url box. I do that to make sure it isn't a base64 image (which has the entire contents in the url and not a link). You can use "copy image address" and not have to show it in another window first.

Very detailed tutorials thank for sharing! Now I hope to be able to fix everything by myself :D

Does anyone recommend the best size for photos? Drives me nuts when I try to look through their bus pics for ideas and the photos are way larger than a large window. I've tried every combination of "View Settings" and it does not make a difference, so I'm assuming it has to do with the original photo size. Thank you :)

I see your post is from 2015 - You still have your GMC Bus. I own GMC 366v8 gas engine & so I have question for you....
-Why is your engine profile, "Engine: DT366 gas" - what does DT stand for???

Thanks

DT stands for Diesel Turbo, as opposed to the HT (High Torque) ot VT (Variable Turbo. There never was a DT366, only the GM 366 gas engine. It was not a DT.

1st you need a place on internet to keep pictures, I use photobucket and it's free, others use other places

It's not free anymore! I can't find a free image hosting site that I've been able to get to work :banghead:

I've used imgur.com for free, without a login, for sharing things.

"Copy Image link" on your right-click menu, and use that.

Maybe they get deleted after a short while, but IDK; I don't post anything on the internet that is too sensitive, identifying, or other stuff like that.
