I've got several emblems I'd like to keep on my skoolie, specifically the International and DT466e logos. The Thomas Built Buses one is getting removed or painted over since it's riveted.

The others are glued, and I've watched several videos about removing emblems, but they always use a heat gun or similar method and metal the emblem a bit, or otherwise only show concern for the vehicles paint.

I also cannot find any on ebay that are replacements, and I'd rather just stick them back on exactly where they were.

Any suggestions?

reattach emblems

many many many emblems today are done with double sided sticky tape.

Look at shops that sell paint and supplies for body work...

you can also get your local sign shop to do one up on their computer - they need a picture of what you want - a logo like that will likely be under $20 - it will be a peel and stick just like the one from the manufacturer

Lol my dad runs a local sign shop. He's making me the bumper stickers (Stay Back 200 Feet, Caution Stickers, etc) but the emblems I'm replacing are 3D, and have a varied thickness of around 4mm to 6mm.

I've thought about 3d printing or laser cutting them, but ABS is a b**** to work with, PLA would melt, and getting the laser cutter up and running is time consuming.

However - I think I might order some older emblems on ebay failing the manufacturer being able to help. I'd love to have the old school intenrational logo, and the 3600 comes in plenty of options. Hard to find the DT466e emblem though.

sorry, I thought you meant the sticker logo from the body - could you use contact cement to glue the original metal emblems back on?

The ones that are on with 2-sided tape (that stand off the surface a wee bit), I've seen guys get them off by "sawing" with a piece of fine piano wire or guitar string. What you're doing is cutting through the "meat" of the tape while leaving the stickum on either surface.

Got them all off, used a paint spatula. About 1/8" thick adhesive of some type, but 20 years of aging made it come off quite quickly.
