Hey friends! I recently acquired some RV windows off marketplace and they’ve got a styrofoam border around them. I’m wondering what I should do with that in the process of cleaning them and getting them ready to mount after my roof raise. Do I carve all the styrofoam out or leave it? I know I’ll be using butyl tape and screws or rivets to adhere the window to the sheet metal but I just want to know how to properly clean and prep them in their current state. Thanks in advance!

That styrofoam and thin plywood are the walls of the RV that the windows were cut out of. RV windows are made with an inner and an outer flange so that the wall is sandwiched between the flanges. Remove those screws that hold the window together and then you can toss the styrofoam and clean everything up real nice.
