Just picked up a well maintained 1989 International 1853 with 156,xxx miles for $500 with title. So far I confirmed it has the DT466 motor, will look at transmission plate next. Borrowing 2 batteries in hopes of starting it, there's only 2 batteries on this rig right?]

I am in need of service/maintenance/operators manuals. Any help is greatly appreciated. I believe the right manual is part CTS-4245G. Volumes 1-5

Likely 2 batteries. Could be 1 8d, or 1/2/3 group 31's. It varies by what the bus was ordered with and what was changed in the last 3+ decades.

Apparently nobody has your service manual. I've got the cts-4209 set, bought it off ebay a few years back when I needed some specs that nobody could give me. I see that your number is available on ebay as well, it's also available through binder books too.

I've looked up stuff for other members on here before. Scanned a few pages for members here too. I've got no desire to scan the entire set. I'm not aware of any online resource that has given these books in pdf for free. Good luck finding it. You might just have to pony up and buy the things.

Terrific price! Less than scrap value.

Please keep us updated, once you get the batteries installed. There are alot of helpful, knowledge folks at skoolie.net. If you do encounter mechanical issues, we may be able to help.

Nice classic, btw, post more photos.

she's up and running like a beast, drove her 2 miles to my buddies shop where it will stay until gutted.. leaking from rear main seal/oil pan area. also leaking on the hose/tube that runs from the radiator to the turbo at a weird connection above the motor. air compressor makes funny noises but brought everything up to correct pressure.

cts 4245 is the manual set I need and it's expensive. I might pony up and try to buy just 1 of the volumes.

here's a youtube video of the interior:
