The MD3060 is a great transmission. The bus I drive at work every day has one. Good power, smooth shifts. It's a 6-speed transmission that was programmed to be a 5-speed in most school bus applications. If yours is like that, a shop with the right computer or an Allison dealer can fix it, you can go a little faster if you're so inclined and you'll have better economy with lower RPMs at highway speed. Mine's set to 5 gears, and it tops out at 68. I usually keep it under 55 (law in CT is 50 for yellow SBs) so it doesn't bother me, but I'm not the one paying for fuel.
