En route from New Mexico back to Louisiana with my new bus!! 2004 International CE300. Excited and scared to make the 850 mile trek. I have a hurricane to beat home.

You just bought a nice bus and you're driving it... INTO a hurricane?

Yep, have to go take of the old folks. First 200 miles down, time to boonedock for the night. At least I get to do a preliminary leak test!

Happy travels! I hope the storm does not affect you. I am hoping, but your profile shows Southern Louisiana ... and it looks like Delta will be a category 3 (major) hurricane by the time it hits Lousiiana. Good luck!

Looks like the eye will hit about 50 miles west of me. I’m about 150 miles from the coast so no storm surge, but wind, flooding, and prolonged power outages from downed treats are likely.

I like to down some treats once in awhile myself, but I've never knocked the power out doing it...

Typos are all the fodder this group needs to get all carried away! [In a good way.]

I am just sitting here laughing at all you'se! (Said in my best NYC tone of voice!)

Be safe out there with the hurricane. I don't even know what a hurricane is let alone what rain looks like living in AZ...

Don't feel too bad about that. Most of these guys would probably wet their pants if they saw a real Haboob coming at them! They would be looking for Brendon Frasier being chased by the Mummy…..:hide:

For those in Arizona and New Mexico ... a hurricane is like a monsoon, only the wind goes around in a circle. :)

I know I'm late on the post but congrats. I just bought me a short school bus last week. Drove it from Newark to New Orleans. One hell of a drive.

And This One Time.jpg

Eh... In my trucking days, I was stuck in Shreveport for the week preceding Harvey with the storm getting ever so closer. It was hitting when the dealer finally cleared the truck I was driving. Was driving through horizontal rain and standing water (8-10 inches) on the roads to pick up my outbound load, then was greeted with tornado sirens when I got to Mississippi with it. Had about five or six tornadoes nearly land on me in the four years or so before that, too.
