Insurance company paid promptly with no issues and contues to provide coverage.

Hope they're as forthcoming if anything, Dawg forbid, should happen while the bus is in motion.

I the call about the engine and transmission? You have not said what it has, so I am assuming that is what you are calling about. It does seem to have a lot going for it.

Engine is a Cummins 5.9 and the transmission is "Allison heavy duty". Both were rebuilt 15k miles ago and the machine comes with the old ones in case I ever need parts. It was built by a man who is now in his 70s who has extensive fabrication equipment and various shops set up on his property, where he lives with a bunch of techno-hippies. He liked my proposed use for the empty rear space (mobile hands-on science learning room) so much that he offered a full day's work to help me modify what is helpful for the new use. So things like adding variable-height workspaces will be able to be done by someone who has experience.

I just sent a deposit on the Bus Machine (#4).

This is either one of the best or worst choices I've ever made. I really like the guy who is selling it. He's an engineer in his 70s who went to Burning Man 18 times and halfway through that decided to build a machine that can power a camp, lift 1,000 lbs, tow 10,000 lbs, and erect 50 foot tall metal poles.

It has been pretty much entirely rebuilt, down to the metal of the walls, by someone who cares very, very much about building things the right way. It looks superficially like a school bus, legally is an RV, and truly is a machine.

I'm going to use it to begin a mobile science school. I'm so excited.
