I hardly know anything, so here I am!

Glad to hear it!

(The pay out, not the catastrophic crash of a kamikaze kumquat doing a face plant into the Thomas, btw.

Sounds like arboreal revenge taken for all the trees ever hit by a motor vehicle... [emoji848])
Yes I have.

A tree fell on the Thomas.

Insurance company paid promptly with no issues and contues to provide coverage.
Hope they're as forthcoming if anything, Dawg forbid, should happen while the bus is in motion. 🤞

I the call about the engine and transmission? You have not said what it has, so I am assuming that is what you are calling about. It does seem to have a lot going for it.

Engine is a Cummins 5.9 and the transmission is "Allison heavy duty". Both were rebuilt 15k miles ago and the machine comes with the old ones in case I ever need parts. It was built by a man who is now in his 70s who has extensive fabrication equipment and various shops set up on his property, where he lives with a bunch of techno-hippies. He liked my proposed use for the empty rear space (mobile hands-on science learning room) so much that he offered a full day's work to help me modify what is helpful for the new use. So things like adding variable-height workspaces will be able to be done by someone who has experience.

Joss Weedon is a geeky-cool dude. No doubt he'd find it shiny & be flattered.
Lol. I’d make our bus’s logo incorporate the shows emblem If I thought I wouldn’t get sued. [emoji23]
If you were making remuneration from his creation, on the other hand, some cashy money exchange might be expected for the copyright infringement privilege...

Now, where's KayLee? Got me some wrenching wench questions.

Unless you just want the experience; then i would buy a completed skoolie with a lot less than 30-50k. Use some of the left over cash for up grades and changes you might want.

I just sent a deposit on the Bus Machine (#4).

This is either one of the best or worst choices I've ever made. I really like the guy who is selling it. He's an engineer in his 70s who went to Burning Man 18 times and halfway through that decided to build a machine that can power a camp, lift 1,000 lbs, tow 10,000 lbs, and erect 50 foot tall metal poles.

It has been pretty much entirely rebuilt, down to the metal of the walls, by someone who cares very, very much about building things the right way. It looks superficially like a school bus, legally is an RV, and truly is a machine.

I'm going to use it to begin a mobile science school. I'm so excited.
