... and on Monday, the 16th of Jan, I became a Noolie (Noob Skoolie) when I won Josephine, a 2004 Navistar International 3000 IC 41 passenger school bus w/ Ricon lift at a GovtDeals auction. Out of abundance of caution, I brought Josephine a brand new battery when I picked her up. She responded with a robust start sequence and a spirited 150 mile sprint home, which I was truly grateful for!

I met Skoolie.com today when Josephine threw me the buzzer / interlock conundrum ... a frustrating puzzle when you have the full suite of exits AND the lift door to contend with. After reading and watching Skoolie content on the matter, I went and found the buzzer and cut the ground wire to it. End of story.

So now I'm joined. I've got some ideas to share. I look forward to becoming a Skoolie!

Welcome !

I'm a rookie myself, but also bought a GovDeals bus that I have yet to recover- Monday. Mine has to make it 150 miles, as well.....

Post some pics of your beast. I haven't even seen mine in person yet, but here is gov deals pic.

Best of luck on your trip. The bookmobiles already have generator/shore power electrics which is a good head start. The twin AC's are nice too.

Contgrats and welcome, time to make good friends with an angle grinder and get those seats out. What's your plan for it?

Going to clear the seats and set about designing and wiring in LED lighting, solar and shore power/emergency generator. I want to have 110 and USB 5V available throughout the cabin.
