Well I finally got a deal. This 04 THOMAS MPV with a Cat engine. Won it for $2425. Found a one way flight from Atl. to OKC for $85, figure $250 in fuel home and I'll be on the property for less than $2800. As mentioned, it will be called "The Bucket List". Now I need to find a surplus rear door.

when I blew the pic up it "looked" like an over drive shifter.. plus by 04 I believe everything was allison 2000. or 3000 (this one isnt a 3000)..

regardless it looks like someone's Bucket List is about to start gettin checked off!!!!!

Got it, didn't think to look at the dash for the shifter. :thumb:
The contact persons phone was busy until the end of the auction (convenient), then I got sent to their voice mail, so haven't gotten any questions answered.

Standard was an Allison 2500, 3000 was an option. I have a camera in a rear view mirror that starts to record everything as long as it's powered up. I will always have it running, even during the build, so nothing gets missed.

You keep seeing bonuses I overlooked. I see no mention of the camera? I saw a camera on the upper front wall on a local bus, but saw no monitor or viewing screen. How do they work?

Cant wait to see what you do with the rear door.

Just curious are there places that are common to find bus bone yards ( I assume that is where you will find your spare door?) There is a bus depot just down the street from me and I think they have a few buses that they strip parts off of, but considering how much they wanted for the running buses that they were selling, I was thinking that their used parts might be kind of steep too.

I have to do a search to find bus salvage yards on the way home. The tear down and rear door mod will be first. Both places I checked so far wanted more for a back door than I want to pay. But now that I have a bus to work on I have to find a door. Fortunately Thomas doors are common.

Normally they feed directly into a recorder. Some can transmit the video remotely.

In school we can get the video files really fast if we ask Transportation.

I'm crying. I thought this day would never come. Our little 01marc got his own bus.

I'm glad you finally have something else to do too. Happy for you. It looks pretty nice.

I didn't see food and drinks in your get home budget. I always get very dehydrated on those high stress drives. Now, drive it like it's stolen.
