Identify This Switch

This is on the front right corner of the bus. I got a single key for the bus which fits the ignition, does not fit any storage locks (corroded closed, just like the other thread here). While my ignition key fits in it upside down, it does not turn either direction. What is it for?

This is on the front right corner of the bus. I got a single key for the bus which fits the ignition, does not fit any storage locks (corroded closed, just like the other thread here). While my ignition key fits in it upside down, it does not turn either direction. What is it for?

My bus has a similar switch which (when working correctly) activates a solenoid under the door handle. It's a main door release system so that the main door can be shut fully (latched), and easily re-opened with the appropriate key. The seller of my bus had already cut the wiring (mainly to disable the 8-way flashers) but said the systems became unreliable over time and use of them was abandoned.

My seller said it was for the door but I haven't tried it yet.
