I'm new. And I am serious

hello! My name is Cameron, and I'm from northern Utah. I may be the only person who is 18 on this forum, but I know for a fact that j will be here for a long while. I have no previous experience with driving a bus, or other large vehicles, but I am an avid camper. My plan, at the moment, is to find a bus that I can convert into a "tour" bus. I am an actor, and it has always been my dream to have my own company. I want to be able to sleep 15 in hammocks or bunks, with a bathroom. I am a huge fan of emails, so please, if you have any idea of where I can start, that's the way to tell me.

Welcome! I'm new here, too. There's a wealth of information here, as I'm sure you've already seen as you've explored the build threads and everything else...

Bear in mind that you won't want to be driving that many people around. You need a CDL (commercial driver's license) to haul over 15 (14? I forget) people.

Also, I think you'll have better luck here if you participate in the conversations, rather than asking people to email you. :)

Welcome Cameron --- glad to hear you are savvy enough to get started young. There are folks of all ages here and most will be happy to share their experiences and knowledge.

If I had started my project at your age...I would have had it finished about fifty years ago.

Welcome! Myself and a few other members here are also in northern Utah.

As far as where to start... there's the conservative route of figuring in advance what you really want the bus to be, then determining what length, style (flat nose/dog nose, front/rear engine, cut-away van/heavy truck frame, etc) suits you and hunting for it. Or there's the impulsive route of buying the first or second bus you see, then figure out what to do with it once it's sitting in the driveway. We have both kinds of builders here!

Browse the forums and you'll find information about how to find a bus, how to insure it, ideas for kitchens, bathrooms, beds, etc. The search here is kind of.. lame.. so remember also you can use an external search engine like Google with "site:skoolie.net" included in your query as an alternate way to search.

Milk...have you on my list of places to stop when we get on the road. I LOVE people with a sick sense of humor. You makes me feel somewhat normal.

Cameron...if you haven't gotten the idea yet, there are very few serious people here. After all, you'll need one **** of a sense of humor once you get your bus & start your conversion just to keep it together.

A 5 year divorce battle in Supreme Court changes a person forever...

You come to a time in your life where you either laugh or you cry.

I've been done crying for years!
Having the faith of my son is what got me through it.

I realize I find irony in a lot of the posts here.... I apologize for shaking things up and thread jacking, but at 49 years old... I'm sitting here asking myself "where'd my life go?"
