INSANE Rooftop Deck

Keep in mind galvanic corrosion needs a 3rd element of an electrolyte to bath the 2 metals in before GC can take place. It's not as big an issue as people put it up to be.

Part of my job is corrosion engineering. Feel free to do what you want. Best practice dictates otherwise. I would not build like that without isolation as his setup contains three dissimilar metals with rain being the electrolyte. Once moisture gets under the oxides you have a runaway reaction.

If rain is not touching the bolts then it’s not an issue.

People seem to think that they can build a bus and flip it and make a bunch of money. While it has happened, it’s rare. If we were to ever get a different bus we would likely take this deck off.
It’s because of the frugal fallacy that is changing rigs when something major on their current rig breaks thinking it saves money, or they want something to do so they build it slightly different and justify it however; or the subconscious limiting belief that “keeping a vehicle for life is what the other half does!”.
