Inspired Noobie

welcome, I edited your post to link to picture, it wasn't coming up as an IMG

I wonder how tall that thing is

That's a good way to ruin a bus and two veedubs in one fell swoop. Having said that, I'm a deadhead and it was buses like the one in the link that got me into this whole bus thing in the first place. That was back in the early 90's. My ideas have changed a lot since then. I'd use the vw's for what they are and just raise the bus' roof a whole lot. But that's just me. Its still cool to see folks are building buses like I used to see on Dead Lot and Shakedown St.
I have to say, for a funky hippie conversion, its a pretty rad one! :thumb:

I'm not sure about actual height, but we didn't have any issue with stop lights or overpasses, so I would guess no taller than a semi.

Seriously, though, get a good measurement. There are a LOT of places that thing won't clear. If its higher than 12'6" you really wanna watch the signage for low clearances.
You really don't wanna find out this way-

My regular bus without a lifted roof only has a foot of clearance on my street. They run power cables LOW all over my town. I hate it.

IDK. They've been driving this and one like it with just one VW for over 10 years...
