insulating Emergency door

hello out there,

Things have been - slowly - moving along on my bus conversion.
The roof is in the midst of being raised, so insulation and windows are on my to do soon list.

Who has insulated their emergency (rear) door?
I'm interested to hear what has been used, and what has been successful.
Because i'll be living in my bus during Canadian winters (sometimes -45C), i want to insulate my emergency door effectively.

Would be possible to drill a few holes and shot some sprayfoam inside? Have not tried, just an idea.

Door has a window? Deleting those can increase warmth.

Try adding 1" double-faced and 1/4" ply on top of that. Wood insulates quite well and the 1" rigid foam will usually suffice.

I'm in Montana and that works for me. I've already wintered twice.

Can't spray foam enclosed spaces, it won't cure and will off-gas or even rot the metal.

Well two component spray foam will cure well in enclosed spaces, you can actually buy closed cell, two component, that you can mix and pour that is used for filling cavities in boats for that purpose.
ordinary spray foam can work well as well a long as you apply it in layers so it has time and humidity to harden.
Not sure about corrosion , would not know why except that with moisture entering the space you have lot the ventilation so it will stay wet and as a result enable rut to develop faster.
