International 3700, should i buy it?

Hello ,
I'm looking for a bit longer for a bus that I can import to Germany.
Now I have found one in Germany, what do you think of that?

International 3700, 1992, V8 idi 7.3 l with Allisson transmission, 145000 miles. It is an 11 window bus, 11,20 meters long.

He has no rust, comes from Texas and does not look bad.

Are there certain things I should consider? What should I pay particular attention to?

He should cost 16,500 €.

in Canada that bus should cost $2000 - $4000 - - one British pound = $1.62 Canadian - 16500 pounds = $26,730 Canadian - I have no idea of what shipping one across the pond is worth, but that seems outrageously expensive to me - maybe I'm not understanding your post?

What is the situation in Germany as far as diesel emissions regulations are concerned? Are you able to get an exemption for a vehicle converted to an RV? The engine on this bus will be horrendously polluting compared to more modern engines with emissions controls, and you won't have VW faking test results on your behalf.

The price ($18,100) is incredibly expensive compared to the US for a bus like this, so without knowing what it costs to ship something from the US to Germany it's impossible to say if that's a good deal. It seems like the bus is almost certain to be in excellent condition since it wouldn't make sense for an importer to go to the trouble to bring over anything less.

I definitely wouldn't spend that kind of money to drive a school bus.
Looks like a very average run of the mill bus. I'm wondering why they didn't import a higher spec model. Low headroom and the smallest, least desirable engine.

And the price it's a gross price, the net price is 13.865€ (15.200$).
With a small business wich i have here i don't have pay the tax.

That sheet is painful to look at. So you buy a $4000 bus, pay another $4000 to ship it, they slap a 22% import fee on the total (price plus shipping) and then slap another ~20% VAT on top of that, plus a bunch of "little" fees here and there.

$4000 might be considered a bit high for that bus, but it kind of doesn't matter given the total cost and how much of that is derived from the shipping costs (which would presumably be the same regardless of what the bus cost). Since you're constrained to pre-1994 buses, this one is probably about as good as you'll find over there.

I did it!

Know my journey can begin. I bought some new tires, have to change the lights in european lights, than i can go the inspection to get the german approval.

Until then i will first remove some seats and start the insulation.
