Hey Everybody,

I am in the very very early stages of my project as I have just decided that I want to do a conversion and live in it full time for at least a few years instead of buying a house, etc etc. I'm looking at a budget of 10-15K total for the complete conversion. From what I have read this is completely doable.

For now, I am just gathering ideas of what I want and all that. I want a functioning kitchen and bath, which I assume will take up much of that budget. So my question is, what should I look for in buying a bus? Engine types, transmissions, brakes, suspension types, etc.

I am going to be doing much of the work by myself (limited experience with this kind of stuff) with the help of my best friend who happens to be very good with carpentry, electrical, etc.

I'm all ears for any advice you may have. I'm super excited to get this process going.

I did well to look for the perfect bus. It took some restraint on my part to not jump on a few pretty decent deals. At times it was even awful to wait while i spent my hours laying in bed reading this forum and scouring all the local cities and states on Craigslist for Bus. But as time always does; the clowds cleared one Friday morning and the perfect bus for me had arrived.

May your perfect bus find you in right time. :)
