We bought a 93 international bluebird with dt466/545
150k 'ish 6 brand new tires. Engine pulled and had replaced what needed replaced. Bearings, seals, etc. Injector pump sent out and gone through. No rust, extra leaf springs, tow hitch, seats out.
Now speaking about retarded engines. Seems I'm the retard as all my research failed to bring to light I have a freewheeling bus with no retarder
Paid 5k.

Well look at the bright side. You can go really fast downhill. And with the 466 you can go pretty fast uphill too.

I use my 545 in the woods quite a bit and the trans hasn't been a problem descending at relatively low speeds. What puts pucker marks on the drivers seat is high speed descents. It's just about like being in neutral.

My 542 in the mountains is usable, just have to go to 2nd not 3rd. I spent months playing mountain goat out west last year, up was more stressful than down!

Kind of surprised to have that much work done at that low mileage. Good to be fresh just wondering what happened to need those things.

And...you can pretty much match a unit to your vehicles weight. As I recall, they make them for anything up to 100 tons.

That's a heavy skoolie...maybe a heavy metal tour bus
