Is a Tee a Tee, or are their different Tees?

What has happened to the internet? Seems like really simple questions are hard to answer...or maybe my questions are not that simple or common??

Anyway, I'm adding a Tee to my MAP sensor port. But, the only one I can find (10mx1 male, 10mx1 female, 1/8 npt female) states it's for oil pressure sensors/gauges.

Seems to me that it would also work with air pressure sensors too. I can't think why it wouldn't, but if so, why is the marketing so specific to oil pressure??

Should be fine for air as long as it has the threads you want. It may be a common part for adding an oil pressure gauge so it is listed as such.

This looks like a way to tee a banjo fitting 10mm x 1.0 on a turbo and then connecting a pressure gauge to the side with a 1/8" npt female port. What size is your map port?

A stainless steel "T" fitting, as illustrated, is acceptable for oil, water, fuel and air pressure.

I did see the same fitting on Amazon for 10 bucks though. 20 bones for a 1/8 T is outrageous

S2 - My MAP sensor is a 10mx1 and the pressure sensor I bought is a 1/8" npt.

Rivet - Thanks for that. I agree per the $$, but I didn't see the $10 one, and the less expensive ones on Ebay were like 2+ week shipping time.

I ordered the Amazon one because I want to get this put together and (fingers crossed) test that it resolves my tranny modulator shift issue.

Simplicity, did you get the adjustable switch? Amazon is fast. Evil-bay has become so slow that by the time you get it you forgot why you bought it in the first place. They need to crack down on their sellers.

A tee is a tee, so long as you're not flowing anything, it doesn't matter what it's intended use was.

If you're flowing air, and liquids especially, you might need a Y vs a T. But being sensors and being air you'll have no flow, so a tee will be just fine.

S2 - Yeah, 14-24psi. It's factory at 15psi. I'm going to see how that does initially. I prefer the modulator activates earlier than later so the tranny can decide when to shift, versus the tranny wanting to shift and the modulator not activating early enough.

Boo - You had me nervous when you spoke about flow, but yeah, it's a dead end into the Tee, so should be good.

Even on Amazon it's almost 10 day delivery. So, back to working on whatever is next and the weather will allow.
