I want 25-30 foot bus, I am 6 foot tall so need headroom. Want handicap lift for mobility scooter but ramp could work. Boondocking in western Oregon mostly but want to go over the big pass 2 times a year (4500) foot. Will have 3 dogs so campgrounds do not like me. Shuttle bus might work, sure like the mileage to be better. Have chevy cobalt which can be towed wheels down. Is there one company that makes shorter buses with headroom? I am not mechanical so bus would need to go to shop if it has problems, so need good parts supply. Very confusing to shop for bus without knowing which companies make what I need.

i think

You are describing a shuttle bus. most seem to be built on Ford chassis. So in essence these are based on ford truck f-450 or f-550 chassis. Engine transmission, brakes, steering, all are just big ford truck systems.

Hello fellow Oregonian. Check out my build thread in my signature below this. I have a 28 foot bus that had a wheelchair lift and high head space at 6 ft 5 inches. They are out there. I bought my bus in Oregon (Albany School District).

How about a Blue Bird TC1000? Short, smaller wheels so it has a completely flat floor inside, front engine Cummins 5.9, high roof, wheelchair lift, turns on a dime (useful in tight spaces), strong all metal construction unlike a plastic shuttle bus. Would that work for you?
