Is this feasable / road safe?

Anything is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it.

And if you lived in a junk-pile town like I do, I dare say you would applaud any and all efforts to improve it.

A couple years ago, somebody dumped this camping trailer on a vacant lot near me. It sat there a long time, and Code Enforcement was too swamped -- both employees (ha, ha) -- to get to it. So I tore it down myself. Hauled every last scrap of it to the County Dump.

Yes, this is an extreme example, but it illustrates the concept behind our discussion here this evening.

Yeah, well since no one's been willing to pay it I've started to be harassed by the fascists at code enforcement. They eased up once I started actually calling city hall regularly.
Nothing worse than uppity pricks as neighbors or city managers.

Lets say I have a classic auto. Engine is out of it for rebuilding. Body is fine, paint is good. Not an eyesore. Parked in the side yard under a nice car cover. It can not run, hence it can not pass smog, hence it can not be registered or even insured as a motor vehicle. How the heck does THAT work?

If you were in Florida, you would be able to get it registered, even if not running. Especially if you had it registered when you first bought it as Florida requires you to drive it to the registration office for VIN verification.
After that you can renew every year online.

Stuff like that is what makes it so hard for us to get insurance and acceptance at rv parks.
Having said that, it looks like a nicely built hippie house. Deadheads have driven stuff like this around the country for decades.
I'm a deadhead, but I wouldn't drive it.

You should come out to Wanee music festival April 20 2017 in live oak Florida. Bob Weir will be there as well as Trey Anastasio! Not to mention most of the Allman brothers band side projects.

I'm kind of biting my tongue on this one. Listening closely.

On one hand, we have the Texans, who firmly believe the only good government is a dead one, and are unafraid to force the point when necessary. And on the other hand we have the coast-folks (of which I am a former) who believe problems can be cured with more laws.

Neither view is correct, but both views (kinda) work. As a keen observer of humans, I find this interesting.

A true story: Several years ago I got pulled-over by the town cop. She (yep!) let me go with a good-natured warning, but before she handed me back my license she asks me if I'm carrying. I answered truthfully. "Yes". She smiled and handed me back my license. When I asked her why she asked, her reply stunned me:"Sometimes its handy to know who I can trust for backup".

In California I'd still be in jail. In Texas I'm just a good neighbor. Changes in latitude...
