Not my first post, but I just got my bus!

2000 International 3000 RE, 84 passenger
200,000 miles, 12,000 hours
DT530, Allison MD3060

Picked her up with a buddy of mine at AAA Bus Sales in Phoenix Friday morning. Rolled out of town around noon and after a few sight-seeing stops we bombed it non stop back to Cincinnati. Arrived home at midnight on Saturday. Barring a weird "swishing" sound from the tranny on the 3-4 upshift (any ideas anybody?) she did great! Cruised at an all-day-long-don't stop-gotta-get-home 75mph with no sweat!

Excited to get started on this adventure, though I am outta money now so it's gonna be a little slow going 😜

Here's a pic from right before we left Phoenix:

Thanks. It took me a while to find it. I was sort of set on a Cummins 8.3 because there is more room in the back, but after all the good press I read about with this setup I figured it was worth it. Gonna have a small master bedroom, that's all there is to it. Figured it was worth the trade off.

I've looked at a few of their buses in the past, did you have a good experience with the dealer?

I'd recommend them with confidence. Joe and Tony run the joint together. They had a nice selection of pushers with big engines, and will be honest with you about the condition. Joe told me they only take busses in from places they know; no auctions. They also service stuff there so they changed all the fluids and filters for me, giving me the confidence to make the almost 2,000 mile trip home. I know a lot of folks recommend the government surplus sites for the prices, but because of what I wanted and its rarity it was worth it for me to go through a dealer who could give me a good idea of what I was getting.

If anyone needs a bus I'd say go there and get it. Tell 'em Jason from Cincinnati sent you .

great lookin bus and kickass drivetrain!.. that thing will run hard! just dont get it hot!!
but if you ran from phoenix to cincy in this warm spell you will be fine

This is what you do when you get home with almost 2,000 miles of dirt, grime, and bugs on your bus. Hey, the kids gotta be invested too, right? 😂

That is so sweet. And you're about ballzy haha. 2000 miles at 75, that'll give us an idea of worst MPG! Can u share that info? I'm gonna build mine in Columbus, small world. I'm pickin my first one up in MD Tuesday.

I got about 5-6 MPG going thru the mountains in AZ. I measured it twice when we got to more flat lands. First time was 8.3 mpg, second was 7.5 mpg. Probably won't go that fast all the time, but I wanted to get home.
