Hi there, I am interested in a 2003 Ford e450 with dual wheels and want to get it a pre purchase inspection.
It seems good - no rust I can see, drove it, all fine.

How important is it for the bus to be lifted for the inspection?

The only mechanic in the town said he can't lift it, but that would be fine as he could get under it.

Should that be okay, or should I send the guy on a longer trip? I know he is so eager to do that for me...

Thank you in advance.

For an inspection only I see no reason to lift the vehicle as long as the inspector can fit under the vehicle at resting height.

Thank you!

He is now willing to take it further away to a truck mechanic that can lift it, so we're gonna do that.
