Liquid Nails Construction

What are your thoughts on using liquid nails in the construction process. There are going to be many places where I will want to cut down on visible mounting hardware, Liquid nails will be perfect for the job. The first con that comes to mind is what I ever I bond with it will not be coming back apart without doing damage to the 2 parts.

I've read that the shear strength is not as good as some of the other products available but I have no proof of that nor products to reference to.

Liquid Nails is overrated. I've used it on a few projects and it always loses its hold after a few months or so. Heat, humidity and all that don't seem to agree with it.
There are crazy, awesome adhesives out there but LN isn't the greatest.

There's about 10 different kinds of Liquid Nails. I've had a lot of experience with it in my construction business. The right stuff would ruin any board you tried to lift if it was LN'ed down. Holding 1/8" ply against my ceiling is not something I would worry about coming down. My biggest concern is if I need to take it down, regardless of adhesive brand.

My experience with Liquid Nails is limited to the variety commonly found at Home Depot. My experience with it is pretty much the same as CB's.

Liquid Naills has about 35 adhesive and sealing products for everything fro low tack "projects" to extra heavy duty construction adhesive. The stuff I use for gluing down flooring is not going to come. It's made for extreme conditions (22°-120°)

20 years ago I installed some 3/8" oak flooring with LN for my neighbor. The present owners decided on a new floor plan this year and the old floor had to be replaced. They tried to strip up the oak but it was stuck down so well they had to pull up the sub floor instead. I heard that the demolition guys were calling me everything but a child of god.
