Have you considered a place to list bus graveyards and folks who often sell skoolies? I know of one in GA that has hundred's (thousands?) of skoolies of all types (and a few transits & highway coaches). My husband got some spare rims for our Eagle there. No website, just name address & phone (I had enough sense to write down the hours open since they are closed on weekends). This guy just buys them up when they are auctioned off (David chatted him up while dickering over the price of the rims). I saw a nice Bluebird All-American there that I would love to have. Just need hubby to call and find out price.....

hi, i live in GA and would love to know where that bus junk yard is in GA,
as i need some brake parts for my 1985 s1700 international bus.
please leave info for me.....thanks jesse

It's a long ways from Savannah :D ..... This place is near Gainesville (look for the north end of Lake Sidney Lanier) and he will be closed until July 12. The road it's on is a 4 lane (985...on the west side, the place covers several acres)

Bluebird parts

Hi. I need a windshield for my Bluebird. I live in New Mexico. Anybody know where I can order or get a used one at a good price??

IF your bus is the standard flat glass that most skoolies have, you're in luck. Just call around to a few glass places and ask them if they can cut you out a new piece, or if they know of a glass place that can.

I just replaced the windshield in my Ford/Ward for a very good price. I forget the exact amount, perhaps $165?

Thanks for the tip. I've been trying the junkyard route but having no luck so I guess I'll do that. I can take out the old windshield, which is just cracked, and bring it in for an exact fit.

New England:

Perry's Automotive, Ashaway, RI. Mostly cars (acres and acres of some seriously cool iron), but I saw a few old (I mean like 50's & 60's) skoolies & a good number of MDT's.

okay I heard about one in t reno, on either fourfth or mill street (the one that it's not on has a volkswagen graveyard I was asking about both and got info mixed)

I'll go investigate later this month

Not necessarily a bus boneyard, but one that salvages trucks/parts:

Woburn Truck Parts, 1095R Main St. Woburn MA.
781-933-1546
Saw stacks of rear ends there (they use bus frames for the racks), front ends, engines, trannies, you name it.

Don't know if that'll help any.....

I was wondering if anyone Knows where i can get a few windows for my 77 international loadstar 1700, i need a back window smaller one off to the left and a regular side window and also a drivers window anyone who can get their hands on these i would be glad to pay cash for them or point me in the right direction of where i can get these, i live in frederick maryland by the way thanks

i called around to a few glass shops until i found one that would put a windshield in my skoolie. The advantage of the windows in my skoolie is that they are all flat glass. since they do not curve, it's easy for the glass guy to cut them to size. I forgot what the glass costed, but it was way cheaper than i had anticipated

Bus parts

Just have visted Wades garage in Alto G.A. well he had a little of every thing, he was able to supply me with all the parts I needed for my 1988 wayne and 1988 thomas buses and he did let me browse around the yard which a good size, fords ,dodges, chevys ,internationals, short and long also some city transit , also has complete buses running for sale.

I bought mine at Zia Bus Sales in Albuquerque NM. Good people, fair, let you test drive (took mine out for 1 1/2 hours on their fuel). They had maybe 5 or 6 for sale then but depends when you go by. Everything starts and runs and all lights work, no junk. They take them on trade from schools when they get new ones. Oh yea, no rust, low humidity there. Paid $2700 for 90 TC2000 5.9 AT545 Firestone radials all 6 85% or better. Temp tag also.

anybody found bus graveyards in kc mo or in mo period.
I have found a couple of rv yards but no bus parts yet

Did you check out Larry Schmidt near Perryville, MO (schmidttruck.com)

It's sort of on the other side of MO from KC though....
