Friends, I'm looking at a 1976 Crown school bus for sale and wondering about the value. I have the opportunity to show up first in the morning and buy it. I looked at it today and I'm not motivated to pay what the guy is asking, but I'm NO expert. Any idea on the value of this thing? There is minor rust around the back window, the seats are in Fair condition, it drives and stops amazingly, and has all the new stuff he says it does. Mechanically, I have no doubts it's in very good condition. It's just cosmetically not perfect and will need some help. The link is here:

OK. This is different. You're looking at this for your company, right? A new school bus averages about $70k; $90K for an "activity" model; $50k for a shell. All will need work to turn them into what you need for your business. So we're talking $75k to $110k.

If you spend $10k on the Crown and put in $20k worth of materials & labor, you have a really cool, really nice, UNIQUE vehicle for your customers. Is that worth the $30k? That's a question you have to answer.

Good luck!
