Hi Everyone! I'm new to the skoolie community and have been researching for weeks. I'm trying to find a bus to convert (approx. 27'-30' of interior space) and I found one, but it's from 1996. Is it a bad idea to convert an older bus versus a newer one? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

It will depend on the engine and trans combo first

but from what I learned if it is a T444E like mine is then at least 1998 is better so that trans upgrade to newer style transmissions is possible. It will have the appropriate plugs and wire harness, should you go a swap later

otherwise gonna be a variety of answers :thumb:

Most 90-03 are what are desired. Newer than that the EPA came in with new regulations that added equipment that was prone to failure, hard to diagnose and expensive to repair. Mileage and maintenance are important factors the older they are.:thumb:
