Hi from Raleigh, NC and I'm planning on converting a bus to live in full time. I want to get as much planning and research done as possible before I purchase a bus. I have a basic layout and plan on having a wood stove. What things should I have planned out before I get started? Any guidance is appreciated, this is all new to me

If I was to use wood heat it would be a thermal mass stove. Also I would recommend a composting waste management system. I built my last with the catch compartment under the floor and a automatic stir system. I could then slide a container under the bus with a trash bag, pull a lever and dump the system. It worked wonderfully. If using much wood remember to glue, glue and glue. As wood can be a source of much noise otherwise.

I would recommend you have your floor plan laid out well in advance. Tape it off on the floor of the bus and spend some time with it. You will be happy that you did.

Hope this helps!

I was planning on using a composting system, I hadn't thought of an automatic stir system though. I'd love to see pics of your set up!

I wish I had pics to show you but had a house fire which destroyed everything. I sold the bus as well, but I have this drawing....
