Hi! I'm in deland florida and i'm looking for someone to help out with our wiring.

i'm new to this school bus stuff so i'll be completely honest, we were following wires and tracing them back trying to remove the unneeded ones and upon doing so somewhere we disconnected the brake lights, blinkers, tail lights and reverse lights. all front lights still work.

we have a 2003 40' rear engine international, if anyone knows anyone who could come out and give us a hand that would be amazing!

my bus also came with those but i don't know how to read those. i think we a wrong wire somewhere and aren't able to figure out how to rewire to the lights.

To be honest with you, you do not need an expensive electrician. Anyone with basic car knowledge, anyone who has installed car stereos and 12 volt accessories can work this through for you, with the schematic diagrams.

The wires in the bus are color coded and have numbers printed on them which makes it super easy to identify.

Post #2 of that thread has the master wire list which is where you should begin, with the "Master Wire List".

If you are willing to spend some time and learn I could help you walk through this but in the meantime please leave the wires alone!

Also, does your bus still start and drive after removing the wires?

Again, anyone with basic 12 volt wire experience can handle this!

If fuses are okay, you can use a multimeter to check for voltage at the light bulb sockets for the affected lights. This will help determine if the issue lies before the lights themselves.
Caution: Only attempt this step if you're comfortable working with electrical tools and understand electrical safety procedures.

Some tips how to find a Qualified Technician:

1. See if there are any international bus dealerships in Deland or nearby areas. They might have qualified technicians familiar with your specific bus model's wiring system.
2. Mobile RV Technicians should have free hvac leads available. While not specifically bus specialists, they may have the experience to diagnose and fix your lighting issue.

I wouldn't say that because disconnecting some wires accidentally led to inoperable brake lights, blinkers, tail lights, and reverse lights. You better look for a RV technician.
Also, if you have the owner's manuals or any electrical diagrams for your specific bus model, those will be immensely helpful for the technician.

You better look for a RV technician.

Sorry, an "RV" technician probably isn't going to be much help here. Neither is a "house" electrician or any electrician that primarily works on AC voltage. An general automotive technician that is 50 or older probably would be your best bet.

As ewo1 said it isn't particularly hard but you need a basic understanding of reading wiring diagrams and circuit testing of DC systems.

I've said this may times you don't need to REMOVE wires you don't need. Just don't use them. They don't weigh that much, you're driving a brick. You might even find a use for them at some later point.

Cars and trucks don't use different main wiring harnesses for different options. They just don't plug anything into a wire that isn't needed. I can't say anything about a vehicle built in the last 20 years but it wouldn't take me more than 5 minutes to find an unused wire in anything older.

Interesting how 5 months have gone by and OP has not returned asking for more help, or letting us know they got it done...

makes you wonder how many times people just give up?
